Verify the sound card of the machine

Make certain that the Windows computer holds a proper sound processor or sound card. In order to verify it, you have to go to the option of Device Manager. After clicking on the sound, you can get the option of sound card. In the same menu, you can also find the term- sound processor.

When Device Status confirms you that your device is functioning rightly, the problem may arise from the cables, speakers, and sound settings.

Check whether the headphones cables and speakers are properly connected

Nowadays, new computers have more than three jacks, such as, the line-in, line-out jack, and microphone jack.

Such jacks are linked to the sound processor. Thus, you have to ensure that the speaker is capped into your line-out jack. When you are not certain of choosing the proper jack, you may attempt to plug the speakers into every jack. And in this way, you can find whether it generates some sound.

Ensure the connection of the speakers to the correct port

Here, you need to ensure that the speakers are capped into the right docks on the rear part of the PC. The green colored ports are mainly applied in case of the external speakers, whereas the black and orange colored ports are utilized for enclosed sound systems. Besides, the pink colored ports are intended for your microphone.

Make sure about the activation of the speakers

Most of the speakers need a connection of power, and thus, they may have to be activated to perform the work. On your speaker, verify volume controls to make certain that they are rightly adjusted to hear the sound.

Reinstall the sound driver

Generally, for reinstalling the driver, you have to uninstall the old one first. Follow steps: go to the Control Panel in your computer. And then, from Device Manager option, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and then find the audio device. After that, right click on your audio device and choose Uninstall option.

After uninstall sound driver, click on the Scan for hardware changes button to let Windows auto-search for Wi-Fi driver.

In the window, you can find, Driver tab, and under this tab, you can get an option to update that driver. Otherwise, the Driver needs to be uninstalled.

Check whether the HDMI wires are linked rightly

While you are making use of any HDMI cable for connecting the computer to the monitor and speakers, which backs up HDMI, you may not be able to hear the sound in some cases. In such a condition, you should choose HDMI audio tool as default. In order to know whether the sound is maintained over HDMI, you have to cover some steps.

To solve the computer sound problems, the HDMI monitor must include one audio input, when you do not comprise HDMI audio appliance. Then, you actually need to hook up a detached audio wire from the computer’s sound card to your monitor. When there is no speaker in your monitor, you may have to attach the audio indicator to another device, for example external computer speakers.
